EARS plc are proud to announce that through Merlin Entertainments we have won the contract to install a bespoke digital radio system in one of England’s largest amusement parks. The park’s staff previously used an analogue radio system which was unable to provide the park with the right amount of capacity during a power failure. Electrical storms were regularly affecting the theme park’s mobile phone system and when staff tried to make individual calls on their walkie talkies the radio system’s resources were over-used making it impossible for them to make emergency calls.

In order to deal with this problem EARS plc supplied the park with a Motorola Mototrbo digital radio system. Some of the many advantages of the Mototrbo structure are that it offers the customer a future-proof technology with two separated channels where analogue radio systems can only provide for one channel. Now if there are any emergencies or power failures within the park the radios can be used to facilitate a controlled evacuation by allocating specific channels for emergency usage.

EARS plc supplied the Theme park with over 30 Mototrbo DP3601 handheld radios and 2 Mototrbo DR3000 base stations. All of these radios have the capacity for GPS tracking and allow the client to record all communications which can be reviewed at any time after the call has taken place. The client was issued with a Mototrbo Trbonet application facility which enables a management system to record the movements of casual staff for greater improvements in health and safety and it also enables users to make instant data and text messages.

By updating and redesigning the Theme Park’s radio system, EARS plc were able to facilitate a more cost effective, technologically advanced and most importantly, safer radio system that helps to protect and manage the park’s 3 million annual visitors.
